Free returns are convenient, but our planet is paying the price for it.

Around 1/4 of products bought online are returned. With the e-commerce boom, free returns have become an expectation from customers. It is understandable; you can’t determine the quality of the product before you have physically seen it. If a product is defective, why should this cost be put on the consumer?

However, consumers have started purchasing clothes just to try them out. For example, buying three sizes of the same piece of clothing, keeping the one that fits, and returning the remaining two.
